I grew up in the Midwest watching my Dad and Uncle play cribbage at family gatherings, like clockwork, after dinner they played three games for a nickel a game, a dime for a skunk.

As young as 7 or 8 I can remember watching with a smile as they spoke their strange language and said their funny sayings, giggling, sighing and moving the pegs on the board. My uncles pegs often moved further than my Dad. ;)

It wasn’t long before I realized others in the family played this game as well. At 12, I asked if I could play, little did I know that there was a three handed version, and you could play as pairs!

In high school, I taught my best friend to play when we grew tired of simple games of penny ante poker. Fast forward in time, I was teaching my wife to play when I realized that this was not only a game, but a tradition that bonded, families, friends, and even the random person sitting next to you in a pub.

What is the Cribbage Life? It is the glorious time spent with family, friends, or strangers that sit across a table, share laughs, a few drinks, and ever so seriously chase after the 121 holes that make this game so exciting!
